[MT-ALES] TALES Highly Modified

Some brain storming after the F3-RES pure 2m gliding even in Albuquerque this past weekend for what we may be able to accomplish here in Montana.

This is a mish-mash of ALES and the F3-RES with 2m gliders.

It could go like this:
30 second motor run to 100m.  This way we all have CAMS or ALTIS that already are useable.
9 minute window to fly a 6 minute task
Time begins AFTER motor shutoff instead of when the model is launched.

Reflight as many time in the window as the pilot desires. However, each reflight requires the battery to be disconnected or reconnected as the limiter may not work again depending on the manufacturer.
So if you launch and find no lift in the first minute you can land and relaunch and still make the 6 minute task time in the 9 minute window.
Scored Man-on-Man like ALES
Landing options just like ALES; 5m or 10m tape

Models of 2m maximum wingspan of any build material the pilot desires.  So a person could be flying and competitive well under $300
Sounds like a lot of fun.

PS  Here is a guy who I believe worked for Horizon for many, many years and now is kitting some of his own designs.  His name is Peter Goldsmith and has been in soaring since soaring existed.  Ha ha.  Anyway, this is his take on this small 2m format, of course this is without motors but the flying would be the same.  It is an interesting read.
