[MT-ALES] 50 Historical Photos

Hrm... what's up with "slide #4", which is captioned: "The first 
airplane flight in history.  Orville Wright flew for 9 minutes and 34 
seconds in 1911."

This picture is of Orville on a flight in 1911, but notice - no motors 
?  This picture shows their glider, which they had returned to NC in 
1910-1911 for testing, to try to commercialize.

The first powered airplane flight (and that has come under debate) 
occurred  on Dec. 17, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, NC, some 8 years before this 
picture was taken.
