Great story Carl. Glad you’re out flying DLG or anyone with a small 1.5m electric as that’ll teach low level thermal air reading quickly.

So I was throwing the Snipe this afternoon and really having fun. The breeze was light and there were a few thermals coming through that the bird could climb in easily. Great, right? On the dot of 3:00 I heard a clunk, then a whine of a pump starting……I was being charged by the great water spitting iron dragon! I kept flying for another 1/2 hour, advancing further out into the field with each launch. Then I noticed that the end of the line was nearing the point where there was alfalfa growing outside the pivot arc. Ut oh!!!! The end nozzles were going to come on! Yikes!!!! I grabbed the radio and Snipe and lit out down the pivot line, rounding the end shortly before the big guns on the end activated. Whew! Lots of excitement!!!!
