Subject: [MT-ALES] GPS Sport Day 1
Day 1 is complete.
Two Heats yesterday. A delay due to thunderstorms and wind, very little rain. The Scale class only got one Heat in so they will start today at 9am.
I am flying superbly. First heat was great air, the second not so much but I was able to tie Mike Smith with his Paradigm with four laps of very smooth flying. He got the 1,000 because his average speed was higher.
Justin has had some equipment setup issues and what we believe was an over current that reset his navigation equipment in flight. We think he’s all sorted out and got his GPS equipment setup correctly. Hope for better things for him today.
Eventually there will be a drop and I expect that will move me down the list a bit.
This is more of a social event with flying. The dinners are superb, sleeping in the hangar works great. Evening conversations are entertaining. Just fabulous hosts!
