[MT-ALES] First ever F5J contest

Hey all you glider guiders!  Today was eventful for soaring here in south central Montana.  

We held our first ever full FAI rulebook F5J contest, and ran it through F3X Vault, another first!  Many thanks to Curtis and the MESS club for loaning us their PA system.  It worked perfectly with the F3X Vault timing system.  Results can be viewed here:

Mother Montana threw all sorts of conditions at us, as she often does, but we persevered.  As the day developed, and the wind and gustiness built, several folks decided they did not want to risk crashing.  And the remaining stalwarts decided to bunch it after the fifth round was completed.  This enabled a drop through the event scoring setup.

Bob gets the newly coined Jon Garber Hang Time Award, for gutting it out working a couple of super light thermals right on the deck for several minutes, ultimately winning his group in Round 2!  How to be Bob!!!

Thanks to Hal for making the drive from Helena to fly with us.  We hope to see more local talent at the June event.  Come on out!
