[MT-ALES] OLDFARTSS contest 10.12.2024

We held our last contest of the 2024 season yesterday at the club field, Edwards airstrip.  Thanks to everyone for coming out, both pilots and spectators!  It was an absolutely beautiful fall day, with very light wind.  Initially, the air was very still, with thermals and some BIG sink developing as the contest progressed.

We flew the Cali ALES format, basically ALES rules with launch height limited to 100 meters.  It was really a lot of fun!  Very challenging flying on a couple of those rounds.  

Everyone was flying well, although Scott was handicapped by continuing motor troubles.  Timing for Jumpers in round 5 really made my day.  ;^ )  What awesome flying!!!!  Two big saves from right on the hangar roof line to make time on a 10 minute task, and returning through major sink to get the landing, and win the round.  When I grow up, I wanna fly like Bob!
