Day 1 is in the books.  Four rounds in great air.  I was up first and removed 3lbs of ballast and sure glad I did.  I finished only two laps and after crossing the finish line I turned downwind to land and at 36m hooked up with a thermal and was able to regroup
and finish four more laps!  The air got good and then I wished I had the ballast in!
That was good for a third place finish.  8 and 10 laps by the 2nd and 1st place finishers respectively.

Round two was full ballast and did 12 laps for a second place behind 15 laps.

Round three, well GPS signal was lost which means I had no idea where to go.  Seems it thought I went halfway to Mount Shasta.

Round four was rocking’ and did 11 laps for another third behind the top two finishers with 15 laps.  This time I had no Bluetooth audio.  I believe the field was saturated with frequencies and locked me out.  Ugh.  That was a challenging round handled
very well by my helper.  I need a different Bluetooth audio transmitter.

We’re staying in an airport hangar.  The wheat field around the airport is being harvested, starting at 2am in the morning!  Gonna be a long hot and very active air day today.  I believe I am 5th overall to some others with unlucky decisions and equipment
issues.  The Alpina CS3 is flying superbly with no bad habits.
