Hey guys!
We had a great day of flying F5J yesterday, with plenty of varied challenges as the day progressed. With 6 pilots, we were able to run 2 flight groups of 3 each in every round.
Reviewing the stats and scores last night I noticed that there were 3 scores of 1000 points in round 2. How the heck do you do that when there were only 2 flight groups in each round? I was curious!
Going to the contest home page in F3X Vault, I found a blue button, just above the green enter my scores button, that said Select Event Action. Under that button there is a drop down menu, and one of the items is Print Round Details. I clicked that, then specified that I wanted to see all rounds, and voila! Lots of interesting info, including all of the as-entered scoring info for each flight and the raw scores for each pilot.
For round 2, Joe was flying in group A with Curtis and Ford. In perfectly still air, he went to 116 meters and put his sky hook out. From there, Joe turned in a time of 9:59, for a raw score of 541.00 to win the round in group A. Group B had Hal, Greg and I flying together. We all launched much higher than Joe had! There were some small variances in time, landing and launch between Greg and I. It looked very close! In the end, we both had a raw score of exactly 561.00 for a tie! Incredible!!!! I have never seen this happen before, but I suppose it does.
So that is how you can have more 1000 normalized scores in a round than there are flight groups in F5J. Neat!
Carl
