Hey everyone:

Just wondering if anyone has their LSF eSAP or SAP Level 2 or better certification. Greg and Curtis, I know about you guys. Has anyone else ventured into LSF? https://www.silentflight.org I’m currently beginning work on eSAP level 5. This level requires two level 2 or greater witnesses for all tasks. I would like to complete many of the tasks in our local environment, as I’ve done for levels 1 - 4. To do this qualified witnesses will be needed. As part of the fun, traditionally upper level certified pilots have helped lower level pilots through the process. Anybody want to give it a go? I’m available to assist.

There is no cost to participate in the program. Also, LSF is the AMA partner in charge of putting on the soaring events at the NATS. Good stuff we all benefit from there!

For background, The Soaring Achievement Program (SAP) and Electric Soaring Achievement Program (eSAP) were initiated by the League of Silent Flight (LSF) to foster development of soaring skills for both traditional winch launched and the newer electric launched soaring activities. Both programs have 5 levels, which gradually increase in difficulty. I found the eSAP program a great way to establish personal goals, help focus my practice sessions, and to attempt new activities that stretch and expand flying skills. Levels 1 and 2 are easy and anyone currently flying in our local contests would have no problems completing the tasks. Levels 3 and 4 present increasingly difficult challenges, but you will find your skills have also developed to help you through them. Level 5 becomes very difficult. Only 137 pilots have achieved level 5 completion since 1975.
