Hal:

Thats great news!

All the officers were heavily involved in putting on the NATS. They were consumed with that most of July and August. If you don’t receive a reply in a couple weeks, maybe later this month at Helena contest, let me know. Prior to ALES and F5J, I spent 3 days flying cross country with John Marien, the LSF secretary, and got to know him pretty well. Also helped him set up his ALES airplane the evening before that event. We might be able to tap into him more directly than through the web site.

I believe the new officers take office at the first of the year for the next biennium. I don’t know who was elected, as I left NATS after F5J, before the election.

Has anyone else ventured into LSF? https://www.silentflight.org <https://www.silentflight.org/> I’m currently beginning work on eSAP level 5. This level requires two level 2 or greater witnesses for all tasks. I would like to complete many of the tasks in our local environment, as I’ve done for levels 1 - 4. To do this qualified witnesses will be needed. As part of the fun, traditionally upper level certified pilots have helped lower level pilots through the process. Anybody want to give it a go? I’m available to assist.

Both programs have 5 levels, which gradually increase in difficulty. I found the eSAP program a great way to establish personal goals, help focus my practice sessions, and to attempt new activities that stretch and expand flying skills. Levels 1 and 2 are easy and anyone currently flying in our local contests would have no problems completing the tasks. Levels 3 and 4 present increasingly difficult challenges, but you will find your skills have also developed to help you through them. Level 5 becomes very difficult. Only 137 pilots have achieved level 5 completion since 1975.
