Good evening Ford. George here, I"ll believe you'll fall in love with volo. We have two fliers here in the Portland flying club with two each. those volo sure do fly nicely. I think Governor will let you and Young Bride return Home. Just stay out of calif. Happy flying and be Safe.

Well, I’m not sure what your numbers mean, but I’m glad you’re happy about them. Good job!

I flew my Volo today for a couple of test flights after completely re-programming it with the help of another Volo pilot. It’s almost too hot here, even at 0800 when I showed up at our not-so-local hayfield. By the time I’d gotten two flights in, it was well over 90 deg. Peaked out at an even 99 this afternoon. Planning to head north on May 19 and hope that Gov. Steve has eased the self-quarantine by then.

So I did get out today for a little low level thermal practice with the U2 standard using the DLG “out and back” scenario to get as many launches as possible in the time I had available. Temp was 70 and it was almost perfectly still. Moving air meant a thermal! My launch altitudes and flight notes are attached. Had to motor up on the last flight as I was getting uncomfortably close to the irrigation pivot, and about the same altitude. Yikes!!! I didn’t bother timing as I was so excited about taking these low launches out! After today, I think this 70 year old just might be able to do a javelin launch and take it out under the right conditions. Something to try in the future!
