Peter,
Really good to hear from you. Carl beat me to it, but I liked that checkboard too!
I just had this come through my email this morning that affects us if we were to come fly with you or if you come down here to fly.

I got to fly a Triangle yesterday, only made three laps but there was some lift. However, it went from dead calm to 30mph in a matter of seconds!

Hi Carl. No, the white checks are painted in mold, so the black is the native carbon. He didn’t charge extra for this ‘custom paint’ scheme when he was delivering to customers direct couple years back. I’m not sure what the paint situation is now with SUSA distribution. I must tell you it seemed like a good idea at the time, but in hindsight I wouldn’t do it again. The checks seem reasonably big on the ground, but they just turn into grey blah at altitude, at least to my aging eyes. My Shadow had a simple (broader) bi-panel division on underside panels & its quite a bit more visible. I’m actually having dangerous thoughts about misting the very outboard tips with fluorescent, but I’m a bit apprehensive about mucking it up even though I’ve done a fair amount of painting with the racers. I’ll test on a sacrificial sport model first. Vinyl may be another option if I kept it minimal. At least the stuff I had was kind of heavy? I’ll have to snap a pic of the topside, its white with bright trim. Maybe that’s why I find myself turning this plane so much LOL.

Looking good there Pete! Great to hear from you.

I like the checkered wing bottom! Did you cut vinyl to make that?

Carl

Hello USA buddies. Thought I’d let you know I’m still alive. My buddy snapped a pic of my Ultima launch as evidence. Seems like the summer just blew by for some reason. Hopefully pandemic matters will return to something resembling normal in 2022. Lack of practice is correlating to my flying skills. I did, however build a Vortex DLG & ventured into flying that this summer. I’m a complete noob but enjoying the new learning experience. Much respect for F3K type flying that’s for sure. I kind of enjoy the freedom of throwing but my bum shoulder is letting me know about it. Holding off on F5K conversion until I exhaust this jumbo box of online steroids from Olympics-R-Us! Take care all -Peter
